The Department of Plant Production aspires to achieve academic excellence and leadership in the fields of field crop science, vegetable production, horticulture, forestry, and natural rangeland management. It aims to advance to distinguished levels in education and scientific research, and to disseminate high-quality scientific studies both locally and internationally.

Mission
To contribute to the advancement of agricultural production by preparing highly qualified graduates (agricultural engineers) specialized in plant production sciences. The department is committed to conducting fundamental and applied research programs that address the needs of the local community, providing technical consultations to solve agricultural challenges, and disseminating research outcomes locally and globally.

Objectives

  1. To prepare competent graduates in various areas of plant production who are capable of working effectively across different agricultural sectors.
  2. To conduct basic and applied scientific research in plant production that identifies challenges hindering productivity improvement and proposes appropriate, science-based solutions.
  3. To enhance agricultural awareness among farmers and stakeholders, and to promote the dissemination of modern agricultural knowledge in collaboration with relevant research centers and institutions.​
